Control

Control is one of the things we spend so much of our lives trying to hold onto. We want to know how things will turn out, who will stay, who will leave, when the money will come, when the opportunity will appear, and whether the choices we make today will lead us somewhere better tomorrow.

But life has a way of reminding us that control is often an illusion.

We can control our decisions, but not always their outcomes. We can love someone deeply, but we cannot control whether they love us in the same way. We can prepare ourselves for an opportunity, but we cannot control whether the door will open. We can do everything right and still experience disappointment.

Perhaps the real lesson is not learning how to control everything, but learning what deserves our control.

We should control how we respond.
We should control the boundaries we set.
We should control what we allow to consume our peace.
We should control whether we keep returning to places that continually hurt us.

Everything else requires a certain level of surrender.

There is freedom in accepting that some things are simply beyond our reach. Not because we are powerless, but because we finally understand where our power actually belongs.

Sometimes, letting go is not giving up. It is choosing not to waste your strength fighting what you were never meant to control.

And perhaps growing up is realizing that peace does not come from having everything under control.

Sometimes, peace comes from knowing that even when you don’t, you will still be okay.
