Some Wounds Don’t Heal. By Fola A Adriel

There are wounds we expect time to fix. Breaks we believe love will mend. Hurts we assume healing will erase. But the truth is, some wounds don’t heal ,at least not in the way we hoped they would.

Some pain lingers. Not as fresh agony, but as a quiet ache. A scar beneath the surface. A sudden memory that still stings, no matter how many years have passed. And while the world around us insists on “moving on,” some moments settle deep, woven into the fabric of who we've become.

But here’s what I’m learning: healing isn’t always the absence of pain. Sometimes, healing is choosing to live, even with the limp. It’s holding space for the ache while still reaching for joy. It’s no longer needing the wound to disappear before we believe we’re whole again.

Some wounds become altars, sacred places where God meets us. Places that make us softer, more compassionate. Places where pride dies and empathy grows. Where we no longer judge others by their pace, because we know what it’s like to carry something invisible but heavy.

If you’ve been waiting for a wound to heal before you live again, breathe again, dream again ,maybe it’s time to stop waiting. Maybe healing looks different now. Maybe it means learning to walk with it, not away from it.

You’re not broken because you’re still bleeding. You’re human. And even here, you’re deeply loved.
